You wake up and see it’s 6 am, you give yourself five more minutes and later on you find yourself rushing things because you’ve slept until 9 o’clock. Let’s face it, waking up in the morning can be a drag. A lot of people are basically zombies before taking a sip of their morning coffee. Which is why we have listed tips for you to do to make waking up easier and to give you a better morning experience.

Here are easy things to do to make your mornings a little bit happier.

1.   Avoid Hitting the Snooze Button

We are all guilty of hitting the snooze button every morning. We think that getting five or ten minutes of sleep can make us feel less tired. But it does not really make a difference though. Unless you get an extra hour or two hours of sleep only then you can feel less tired when waking up. If you find yourself hitting the snooze button every morning, then you should place your alarm clock where you can not easily reach it upon waking up. So when your alarm clock goes off in the morning, you will be forced to stand up to turn it off. If you find yourself waking up ten or twenty minutes every day after your alarm, then set your alarm clock ten or twenty minutes later so you get those uninterrupted minutes of sleep.

2.   Drink Up

One of the easiest things to do to kickstart your morning is to drink a glass of water once you’ve woken up. Drinking a glass or two can help your body’s metabolism, expel out toxins, and of course hydrate the body. A lot of health benefits can be brought about by keeping yourself hydrated.

3.   Stretching and Working Out

Stretching and working out in the morning can wake up you in the morning by working out those muscles. It also gets our blood flowing, so we feel energized and more awake. Exercise also releases endorphins, so it also improves our mood. If you want to feel less tired and less grumpy in the morning, you should give this a try!

4.   Eat Breakfast

You have probably heard the saying, breakfast is the most important meal of the day. But people nowadays are too busy or too lazy to prepare breakfast. Eating breakfast gives you a lot of health benefits so it must not be skipped. Not only does it wake us up, but primarily it gives us the energy we need to kickstart our day. Without food in our system, we cannot function to the best of our abilities. So fuel up and see the wonders that breakfast gives.

5.   Soak Up the Sun

If you’ve given stretching or exercising a try, then you should try doing it outside in the sun. Getting some sunlight tells your body that it is time to start the day. You have stayed all night indoors and in bed with only artificial light and darkness. Getting a little bit of sun will make you feel good, make your skin glow, and light up your eyes.

6.   Write Down Your Tasks for the Day

Writing a To-Do-List can be very helpful because it makes us more productive and look forward to the day. Write down all the things that you should accomplish for the day and arrange them chronologically so you keep track.

7.   Take a Sip of Your Morning Coffee

Are you basically a zombie before taking a sip of coffee? Well a lot of us are. A lot of health benefits can also come from taking in caffeine. Drinking coffee can help pump your brain with serotonin and dopamine. It also lifts up your mood, makes you feel energized, and help you focus.
